JANUARY 2015 HEIMTEX
HEIMTEX, JANUARY 2015   In the beginning of January I attended the Heimtex in Frankfurt. I arrived two days before the opening, as I had an assignment for the concept and decoration of the booth of the Uludag, the Association of Turkish Home Textiles. See the pictures on my site. The Trend table of the Heimtex has decided on 4 Trends for 2015/2016. One is Sensory, the next is Memory, then Mixology, and finally Discovery. Under the heading “Experience” one encounters the latest developments from the world of textile design, with more emotion, intensity and completeness than ever before. The aim of the fair is to have their visitors experience future developments for retail, and to show what is driving the home textile market. To look forward there was an exciting programme that shows what will be driving forward the industry of tomorrow: science and technology, creativity and communication. With the new Theme Park concept the most important developments are filtered and will bring solutions for textile interior design to life. I have taken some pictures there. Besides the themes there was attention for a Foot Spa, a Mirror Space, and examples of technology incorporated in textiles. Also interactive lamps, examples with augmented reality, projection of possible prints etc.
